Metallic Barware for the Perfect Holiday Bar Cart
If you caught my post a few weeks back, you know that I finallyyy found the perfect bar cart to DIY. You can see the transformation from dark and drab to bright and beautiful, here. Although I've already decorated quite a few rooms for Christmas, I decided to keep just a bit of Thanksgiving decor throughout my home since we are hosting dinner this year at our house!
My newly DIYd bar cart was the perfect place to create a delicious fall cocktail with metallic accents surrounding it. I like to glam things up just a tad for the holidays, so when DOMU Brands offered to send me an item from VonShef, it was an easy decision to choose this gold barware set, complete with a shaker and matching muddler, 9" bar spoon, Hawthorne strainer and double ended 0.5oz/1oz measuring jigger. I was looking for a set just like this!
Doesn't this set match perfectly with the Thanksgiving sign I found?
I think these other color options are really cool too! I especially love this matte black finish that would be perfect for a New Year's Eve party! (I'm always thinking ahead. ;))
Of course, I had to try out my new adorable barware, so I found a few ingredients I had on hand and whipped up a super easy and super tasty little Thanksgiving cocktail! The best part is what's around the rim. ;)
I started by dabbing a bit of maple syrup around the rim of the glass to make it sticky. Then, I used pumpkin pie spice, white sugar and brown sugar in equal parts all blended together to line the rim of the glass. The easiest way to do this at home is grab a saucer or small appetizer plate and rotate your glass in whatever spices or seasoning you choose. The cocktail consists of apple cider and a splash of vodka. After mixing the ingredients, pour over ice in your rimmed cocktail glass.
Bringing in warm tones and shimmering metallic accents gives that cozy feel, perfect for this time of year! I found my round metallic place mat at HomeGoods, as well as the turkey figurine and tea light candle holder.
I always love adding cocktail napkins because there are so many cute options to choose from! These were also found at HomeGoods.
Using placemats while preparing drinks on your bar cart is an easy way to make clean up a cinch.
One last step - garnish with an apple slice and you're ready to enjoy!
