My word for this year was “simplify”, so here is a very simple way to decorate your bedroom for the holidays. Although I found the perfect woven bed for our space in the spring, it’s finally making its debut!
I was gifted these beautiful, natural looking magnolia branches and flowers from Prestige Botanicals and fully intended to use them for just a fall accent. But, once I started unfolding the leaves, I thought they’d transition well from Thanksgiving, to Christmas, and even into the new year!
I decided to transform my bar cart into an elegant coastal Christmas scene for the holidays this year! My white cane bar cart sits in the corner of our dining room and it needed a little pizzazz. After seeing how the sunlight reflected off of all the glitter, I think it was the perfect place for it. My local Christmas Tree Shops andThat! store had a bunch of really cute coastal options for Christmas decorating.
This is something that doesn’t happen every day in Florida, even during the winter months! With lows in the 30’s, I thought I’d go ahead and document the rare opportunity we had to get cozy by the fireplace! Since Miss Summer didn’t quite get all of the spotlight she deserved in my recent posts, it is only fair that she takes center stage in this one. I hope you enjoy her expressions as much as I did! :D

It’s time for Part II of An Elegant Christmas Home Tour Blog Hop!! Last week I showed you the foyer, dining room and living room. This week, I’ll be continuing the tour past the foyer, as seen below, and into the master bedroom on our first stop!

This year will be my fifth Christmas spent living in Florida and my oh my how my style has changed! Granted, the first year we lived in a rental home by the beach and I used my fairly ugly and cheap Christmas tree along with any and all colored ornaments I already owned. And it was still a lovely Christmas. The last few years my husband and I have been in our first home together and with each season I am able to collect a little more Christmas decor. This year I have 4 Christmas trees, several wreaths, a gazillion ornaments and gorgeous new outdoor decorations! My point is that no matter what stage you are in, your Christmas can still be lovely and magical.
That charm of the South has drawn me in and I’m fully embracing it in my Christmas decor this year with the help of The Jolly Christmas Shop! Being just an hour from the Georgia border in northeast Florida, we still feel very much a part of the South. The Jolly Christmas Shop is located in Loganville, Georgia, so if you’re lucky enough to be in the area, definitely go stop by and check them out! They have a total Christmas wonderland set up in their shop!
Can you hear those sleigh bells jingling!? Oh wait, I think that’s just the sound stuck in my head from two straight weekends of Christmas music on Pandora playing throughout my home as I get it holiday-ready! :D You do know what pairs best with Christmas music, don’t you? Over the past several weeks, I’ve been blogging about all of my fun finds at my local andThat! store as part of a fun shopping challenge! This is my 4th challenge to make all of the things cozy this fall for just under $150! My favorite thing about andThat! is that it won’t break the bank. You can walk out of that store with a cart full of goodies and feel great about the value you’re getting!
This might be my favorite challenge yet, because “coziness” comes in all shapes and forms, doesn’t it? Perhaps “cozy” is also in the eye of the beholder, so I’ll just show you what cozy looks like to me! ;)
I'll come right out and say it...I'm not much of a "pink" kind of girl when it comes to home decor. BUT, I'll make an exception for Valentine's Day! Today I'm sharing with you the one, rather simple, thing I did last year that completely changed how I decorate! It all started with a New Year's resolution...
Last year I took down all of my Christmas decor on New Year's Day, which is pretty typical for me. I had been thinking more and more about how my home needed some life. Finally, I vowed to start using real greenery in my home decor!
Confession: I've never actually decorated for NYE before. There are only 6 days between Christmas and New Year's Eve, which is not much time to prepare if you're planning to host a party or even if you just want to get a little festive before you head out to watch the ball drop! So, this year when I decided to style up my bar cart, I went looking for some cute NYE decor and was shocked to find that none of the stores I checked had any!
With such a busy start to the holiday season, I thought it made more sense to break up my Christmas Home Tour into two parts! One thing I absolutely love about the holiday season is changing up the entire ambiance of my home. If you've followed along on Instagram this year, you know I love my tropical, beachy vibes with fresh palms everywhere I can put them. And why not? After all, I live in Florida! But for Christmas, I'm all about abandoning the blue accents you'll find in the summer months and replacing them with all things bling! Silver and gold are my go-to accents and I love things that sparkle with the glow of the Christmas lights and candles!
This is the first time I've ever channeled my inner "Martha Stewart" for Christmas, but in keeping with my 2017 New Year's resolution, I decided to add fresh greenery for Christmas too! Instead of palms or magnolias, I stepped out to the front yard and gave our twirly pine trees a little trim! I didn't hack off any large branches - I just snipped off the ends in about 5-8 inch lengths and stuffed them all in a bag to bring inside.
Christmas has quickly become my favorite holiday to decorate for. which is why I'm super excited to be hosting this Cheerful Christmas Home Tour along side of some very talented bloggers, who will also be sharing their homes with you! Although I've already decorated quite a few rooms for Christmas, I decided to keep just a bit of Thanksgiving decor throughout my home since we are hosting dinner this year at our house!
I accidentally decided I would turn my throw pillows into "presents" when I laid some ribbon down on my sofa and realized I did an impeccable job of picking out my latest lumbar pillow from HomeGoods. I just knew that clearance find had "holidays" written all over it!
