The change of seasons always call for a change of decor, but I think I’ve felt a little hesitant to make any changes to my living room because I was just really content with the neutral look I had going on. Also, our weather this past month has had a lot of ups and downs, so I think that played with my mood. But, I finally took a Saturday afternoon to switch out pillow covers, throws, side tables, decor and of course, greenery! Come on in and check it out.

I made a couple of very simple switches to the foyer decor. I replaced the beige ottoman with two of my DIY starfish baskets and tossed in some turquoise pillows as a way to incorporate my accent color - turquoise! I got the turquoise pillows from one guest room and the striped throw that you’ll see in my living room from the other.

The tray that was in the living room is now on the foyer console table under a glass carafe filled with a few fronds from outside. For more ideas on how to decorate with greenery, click here.

I’ve heard that proper etiquette does not include calling out your own flaws, but I just can’t ignore a common problem - visible cords! I have an idea to paint these lamp cords the same color as my walls so that they blend in better. I’ll let you know how that goes. ;)

You’re only getting a little peek into my dining room through the foyer mirror for now. I haven’t changed the rug and slip covers yet like I normally do when the weather warms up. I think I need something different this year and I’ll share it with you once I’ve figured it out and refreshed that space!

Moving from the foyer to the living room, you’ll see a few more pops of turquoise.

If I flipped the lumbar pillow over, you might recognize it from last summer’s home tour. We’ll just use the striped side until we’re ready for another change. ;)

Since I use an ottoman in place of a coffee table, trays come in especially handy. I grabbed this faux marble tray from my kitchen and sprinkled on a few accents like a coral figurine, Greek key candle, faux flowers and a dish I sometimes use to hold jewelry.

My DIY cane bar cart is now where the folding gold tray table was. Notice anything missing in the image below? Yep, the figgy took a trip back to the family room once the sun started to go down and we close the front door. Fiddle leaf figs like bright, indirect light, so most of the time it lives near a window at the back of the house.
