We’re in full spring mode over here and our guest bedroom needed a little refresh! I partnered with Christmas Tree Shops andThat! to incorporate decor from their “Black, White and Glam” line. The items have a tropical feel to them, using neutrals with pops of green, mixed metals and woven natural textures. Based on the items I saw online, I created a quick moodboard of decor to look for in the store. 

Here’s what I actually put in my cart:

I decided to go with the light green pillows to draw out the green that’s in the guest room’s rug.

I’m sure many people share the same sentiments about throw pillows as I do, the more the merrier, right? ;) These pillows were all under $20! They can be swapped out so easily to create a new look while not breaking the bank.

There were several cute lumbar pillows to choose from so I actually ended up getting three of them! It was hard to decide where I liked each one best, so here are some photos of the pillows rearranged. :) If you have excess pillows, here are some fun places they can be used in your decor that doesn’t just involve the bed.
- In a basket
- On a bench or stool
- On the bottom shelf of a table

The beach house pillow is too cute and totally works in a coastal chic setting, as well. When I purchase items (like pillows) that are easily movable, I keep in mind the color scheme of my whole house. I like having the ability to shop my own home later on to freshen up other spaces. For example, this white beach house pillow could look really cute on our living room sofa, as well.

As always, I think scent is really important. Ever since getting my first apartment, I remember wanting it to smell great as soon as you walked in the door. Preferably, it would be reminiscent of the beach! Think coconut mixed with floral scents. I’m sure our future guests will enjoy these fabulous candles that smell like a vacation and are really pretty too! These candles were under $8 - a much better value than you’d see in most stores.

A few decorative accents, like these palm leaf candle holders, bring a nice tropical vibe to the space. I’m also a firm believer in providing baskets in guest rooms. It could be used to store excess pillows, as I mentioned above, or even a place to put laundry. They’re also great to have for no other reason than to look cute.

Every room needs some greenery! How cute is this geometrical plant stand? There were lots of cute tabletop accessories in the store. I hope you have a store nearby too because Christmas Tree Shops andThat! always has affordable decor! Every Season. Every Reason. 

P.S. I also saw a bunch of cute patriotic decor that are perfect for summer, so stock up now while supplies last! Our backyard makeover is nearing completion and I’m already planning themed parties. I’ll definitely be heading back to my local Christmas Tree Shops andThat! for accessories!
