Classy Christmas Home Tour {Part Two}

With such a busy start to the holiday season, I thought it made more sense to break up my Christmas Home Tour into two parts! Previously, I showed you my Foyer, Dining Room and Living Room when I joined a group of talented bloggers for our Cheerful Christmas Home Tour! If you haven't seen it yet, you can check it out here! Today, I'll be showing you around a few more rooms, so come on in for Part Two!

Breakfast Nook

It was a partially overcast day here in Northeast Florida as I attempted to capture the rest of our Christmas decor. On one hand, I think the dimmer lighting creates a cozy vibe throughout the house, but on the other hand, it isn't exactly the best lighting for photographing! As you pass through the living room, you can see the breakfast nook that sits off to the side of our kitchen and family room. I like that our house has a little bit of privacy and separation from the foyer, but still flows pretty seamlessly from one space to another. In fact, sometimes we play hide-and-seek with Summer (our Great Dane/English Mastiff) because you can go in a circle through the rooms around the kitchen! Hey, sometimes you have to get creative on those rainy days where no walks are happening! ;)

And then the sun peeks out through the clouds and everything glows...

Speaking of walks, the other day I collected pine branches that had fallen along the sidewalk and brought them home to be used as a centerpiece. I draped a battery-powered string of lights over the branches and it creates a cozy glow at night.

I carried a little bit of "bling" in from the living room with a few sparkling ornaments that I hung from the branches.

I especially love to use this white porcelain "cable-knit sweater" vase during the colder months.

Faux fur is always a good idea at Christmas time! I like to toss furry pillows and throws just about everywhere to make the house feel more cozy. And, believe it or not, we do actually use blankets in Florida...someone really did ask me that question once! :D

Family Room

Our family room is where we spend most of our time if we're indoors. It's located at the back of our house, behind the kitchen. It gives us a nice view of the tall pines overlooking the water. What I love most about it is seeing the beautiful varieties of birds swoop down and hunt for fish or just sun themselves on the bank.

Our fireplace is surrounded by windows on each side, as well as a large window directly over the mantel. I love that concept, but it does also make getting a good photo pretty challenging...good thing I'm up for it! I'm still a photography newbie, but it's been a lot of fun learning as I go.

Contrary to what you may have assumed, these long pieces of driftwood did not come one of the beaches by our house. My parents actually brought me some wood from the shores of Lake Superior by our cabin in Michigan's upper peninsula. I'm really loving them! And so is Summer, apparently, since she dragged one out onto the floor and gnawed it to bits while we were gone. Thanks, Summer. At least there's more where that came from! ;)

Our family room Christmas tree was kept pretty simple. Just a strand of silver beads and a seashell garland are all it really needed.

Oh, I placed a few painted pine cones within the branches, too.

Below, the tree skirt is actually just one of my blanket scarves. Nifty, huh?

Master Bedroom

Merry and bright - two wonderful aspects of the Christmas season! I love this little sign I found at Target the other day for $5. It's traveled around my home until it ended up hanging on our door handle.

Our bedroom is the easiest to neglect when it comes to holiday decor. This year, I did add some fresh pine trimmings to our nightstands and a couple festive and simple accents on the dresser.

Our upholstered headboard that I got for a ridiculously great price last year is on sale again now!  Did you notice that our bed is higher than normal?  Because I picked an extra tall bed frame, it was kind of tough to find bedside tables that would fit, but these matching ones did the trick!

A simple wooden bead strand and some fresh pine trimmings in a basket were enough to add some holly jolly feels to my husband's nightstand.

I've enjoyed being able to share some "new" spaces with you all ready for Christmas, since some rooms in our home haven't been furnished very long! This is also the first time ever that I've used real greenery in my Christmas decor! Can you believe that!? I can promise you that it will always be incorporated in the future. I hope you've found bits of inspiration to take with you and thanks so much for stopping by!
