A Twilight Christmas Bar Cart {Hop}

Can you hear those sleigh bells jingling!? Oh wait, I think that’s just the sound stuck in my head from two straight weekends of Christmas music on Pandora playing throughout my home as I get it holiday-ready! :D You do know what pairs best with Christmas music, don’t you? Wine! So, I’ve got my bar cart stocked and I’m joining six lovely bloggers to bring you the Merry Little Bar Cart Hop! Don’t forget to stop by each of their blogs at the end of this post to check out their unique bar cart styling!

Why I Chose to Have a "First Look" on Our Wedding Day

Having a "first look", where the bride and groom privately see each other before their actual wedding ceremony, and often photograph this special moment, seems to be a trend that has grown over the past few years. I debated whether or not I wanted a first look with my soon to be husband before we actually saw each other at the alter on our wedding day, but ultimately decided to do it because of the reasons I’ll outline below.

Why I Love My Comfort Works Dining Chair Covers

A couple weeks ago I posted my Touches of Fall Home Tour and included my dining room with new dining chair slipcovers from Comfort Works! Today, I’m posting a full review that will hopefully answer any questions you might have about them. :)

Comfort Works makes a variety of replacement dining chair covers and replacement sofa covers which are perfect for my IKEA lovers out there who are looking for a change! Perhaps in the future I’ll switch out my sofa covers, but for now, let’s focus on the dining chairs!

How I’m Getting Cozy This Season for Under $150

Over the past several weeks, I’ve been blogging about all of my fun finds at my local andThat! store as part of a fun shopping challenge! This is my 4th challenge to make all of the things cozy this fall for just under $150! My favorite thing about andThat! is that it won’t break the bank. You can walk out of that store with a cart full of goodies and feel great about the value you’re getting!

This might be my favorite challenge yet, because “coziness” comes in all shapes and forms, doesn’t it? Perhaps “cozy” is also in the eye of the beholder, so I’ll just show you what cozy looks like to me! ;)

Spa Day With Summer & Fresh Local Deliveries

Pets are family! (And all the pet-owners said, "Amen!") Amiright? If you've followed my blog or Instagram for any length of time, you probably already know how we feel about our sweet Summer girl who just turned 6 in June. She's a Great Dane and English Mastiff mix weighting about 160 pounds at her leanest weight. What a joy it is to come home to that darling face and happy wagging tail. Our fur-babies grace us with their presence here on earth for far too short of a time and it's important to make that time count.

Classic Ginger Jars in Modern Colors

This really could not have worked out more perfectly! I looked in so many places for some ginger jars that would "match" my decor and was just about ready to give up on my search when Lauren Haskell reached out to let me know she had just added a brand new line of soft and colorful ginger jars to her store, Lo Home! While I absolutely adore the look of blue and white traditional chinoiserie ginger jars, that pattern and color just doesn't fit into the soft palette in our main living spaces - but, soft gray-blue? Now we're talkin'!

A Pumpkin Spice Coffee Station

Queue the drum roll! It's officially Pumpkin Spice Season!! I was a closet pumpkin supporter. Little pumpkins have been popping up in my decor here and there but I was too afraid to post them for fear of the angry internet mobs railing against the inevitable disappearance of summer. But when Starbucks says it's okay, then it must be okay, right? I'm totally rolling my eyes at that sentiment because (don't shun me) I'm not a huge fan of Starbucks. So, I created my own cute and delicious little coffee station with the help of andThat! ;)

How to Easily Frame a Builder-Grade Mirror

You know those plain, builder-grade mirrors that come with a lot of homes, right? Our home had a few of those not-so-pretty things when we bought it and I couldn't seem to find a great option to replace them. When Frame My Mirror asked me to try one of their products, I was really excited because I knew they would have the perfect solution for our guest bathroom, which I began to update last year.

The Best Throw Pillow Inserts That Never Need to be Re-Poofed!

First of all, "re-poofed" is a word. At least in my house it is. Let me explain...I thought I knew what love was. But I was wrong! For years I've been saying the only pillow inserts I like are down-filled, but they have now been demoted to my second favorite type of pillow insert. And quite frankly, they don't even compare. They're chopped liver. Thanks to Lauren of Lauren Haskell Designs and her new online shop, LoHome, I now have a new favorite pillow insert and I cannot rave about them enough!

Serene Coastal Chic Living Room Decor

I've made a few changes over the last several weeks to our living room! I'm trying to emphasize a little more of the "chic" side of a coastal chic style. Soft blues and neutral tones create a serene atmosphere. Pops of green from freshly trimmed palms add a little vibrancy. I don't think I can live without my palm fronds. ;)

Make Room for Conversation on a Small Front Porch

I'm really excited about this series of blog posts in partnership with Christmas Tree Shops andThat! When I was asked to participate in a series of decor-related challenges, I of course said yes. Sometime last year I realized we had an "andThat!" store just down the road from where I worked and have loved perusing through it since the first time I went in. The first challenge is decorating a small space.

Self-Watering Planters and a Stylish Front Porch

Every time we go on vacation or leave for a long weekend, I'm concerned about my plants that are sheltered under the patio or porch, since most of them need to be watered at least every other day. Recently, I discovered these awesome planters through Jackson & Perkins that are designed to hold water in a separate compartment so that the plant can get as much moisture as it needs.

Casual Coastal Summer Bedding & Decor

Do you want to know what one of my biggest summertime struggles is? Great, I'll tell you. Balancing the inside temperature with the outside temperature - good grief what is up with the freezing interiors in the summertime? Am I the only one that struggles to find a balance the whole house can agree upon? My side of the bed at night ends up looking like a giant heap of blankets and then I wake up too warm once the sun has come up and the room has heated up (hello, large husband and giant dog) from all the body heat overnight. Tell me I'm not the only one with this problem. Alright, I’ll end my rant with some good news!

Adding an Office Space to a Guest Room

I never really thought much about having a home office until I started my blog. I began using my laptop all the time and I got tired of seeing it on the kitchen desk counter. We have a built-desk in the kitchen which just ends up being a catch all for mail, bills, etc. You know how that goes, right?
